Pickup from Calicut Railway Station / Airport. After breakfast visit Edakkal caves– An interesting trek up the Ambukuthi Hill near Ambalavayal town. It is famous for its pictorial paintings done in the caves-takes you to the fascinating neolithic cave site of Edakkal. Etchings found on the walls of these caves have drawn the serious attention of archaeologists and historians worldwide. After Edakkal proceed to Heritage museum situated in Ambalavayal- one of the largest and best archaeological museums in Kerala. There you can explore the entire Wayanad history. Afternoon have your lunch and visit Soochippara waterfalls, a three-tiered waterfall in Vellarimala, Wayanad, surrounded by Deciduous, Evergreen and Montane forests, where you can take bath too. To reach the waterfalls people have to walk a natural rocky trek path which is a thrilling experience.
Back to the hotel / resort and take rest after the tiresome journey.
After breakfast proceed to Banasura Dam, Considered to be the largest earth dam in India and the 2nd largest in Asia. The view from here is just magical. Speed boat one of the main attraction here, peddle boats are also available. Pookod Lake, the natural freshwater lake is the next sightseeing place to visit. Boating and sightseeing is the main activity here. It is a perfect place for families to chill out. If still time permits move to Lakkidi View Point-just 5kms within the Lakkidi Town. One can have a view of the zig-zag roads from the height.

After having breakfast move to Kannur and checkin to the hotel, then drive to Arakkal Museum, one and only muslim dynasty in kerala-dedicated to Arakkal Family. It was a palace which is converted into a museum now. People interested in history and all, this museum will be a gem for them. Next at a short walkable distance we have Mappila Harbor– a natural harbor which gives a great view to the sea. In ancient times it was a Port which linked Malabar to foreign countries. From the bay proceed to St. Angelos Fort (Kannur Fort) , built by the first Portuguese Viceroy in India- most important historical monument-protected under the Archaeological Survey of India. Have your lunch and visit Muzhappilangadi Beach kerala’s only drive in beach-longest drive-in beach in India-and featured to be among the 6 top best beaches for driving in the world in the BBC article for Autos. It has many activities like Paragliding, Parasailing, Micro light flights, Power boating and so on.. If still time permits you can just have a visit to Dharmadam Island, an uninhabited tiny island.

After breakfast visit Muthappan Temple (Shri Parassinikadavu Muthappan Temple) i.e., early morning before 8 AM. This temple is very famous and irrespective of religion many people come here for darshana. The deity worshipped here is Muthappan (personification of Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva). Mysterious rituals and practices are followed here. Visiting this temple will be a great experience. After visiting the temple move to Parassinikadavu Snake Park, a famous tourist destination in Kannur. It is a park established with an aim to protect and preserve snakes. Different varieties of Snakes are there including non-poisonous one. After lunch let’s end the journey with a visit to Payyambalam Beach, a simple, clean and beautiful beach to relax. The beauty of the beach is also showed in many Indian movies.
